Logistics/Accomodation
This event's a bit unique. Given it's extreme length, it will be starting on the Friday evening (probably 8pm - to be confirmed), and through the night, and the whole of the Saturday. The last ferry from Armadale back to Mallaig is at 6:40pm (subject to next summer's timetable being published), so it's probably a good idea to get there before then.
All riders will be given a route narrative and directions, but there will be no road markings and no support laid on by us. See the support page for more details. Team Accelerace will be amply represented (well, at least 4 at the moment), and we'll be riding at a steady pace - we'll see how it pans out, but people are welcome to ride as a group, or ride on at their own pace individually or in small groups. Basically, once you've got the instructions you're free to ride as fast or as slow as you'd like.
Accomodation-wise, we shall be staying at the Silver Sands campsite - basic, but spectacularly located, and we'll be there from Thursday night. We'll also be heading back there after the ride, and kicking back with (likely) barbeque, beer and beach (and maybe ice packs, massage oils and recovery shakes).
For all those who don't feel like camping, and are looking for a proper bed and a bit of comfort after the rigours of the event (or before) - we can highly recommend contacting Sheila at Ach Na Skia Croft - or visit their website here.
