Norseman FAQ's

Are there many bike shops within 30 miles?
Question: Is the fjord cold?
Answer: Yes, but not as cold as you may think. The actual temperature varies each year. Unless you are used to mediterranean luxury, taking the plunge shouldn't be too much of a shock.
Question: Is Norway really that expensive?
Answer: It really is. Even the most simple things hit the wallet hard. Food especially mounts up quickly. Absolutely make sure that your bike is in good working order. The cost of it getting fixed out there is horrendous.
Question: What is the atmosphere like?
Answer: The atmosphere and cameraderie are one of the reasons this event is so enjoyable. The Norwegians are excellent hosts and there is a real buzz around the whole weekend. This starts with the Eidfjord mini-triathlon the day before.
Question: How will we prepare on the day before?
Answer: In the past we have taken a dip in the fjord, taken the bikes for a spin up the first part of the course and watch ed mini-triathlon. It is up to you. We will get together to discuss the race day logistics at some point, but if you want to spend the day simply relaxing and asking us questions that is fine.
Question: How many women enter the race?
Answer: In 2006 8 women collected a black finisher shirt. No British women have competed in the race.
