Norseman Xtreme Tri Plan 2007
Using our knowledge and experience, gained from the previous trips out to take part in the NXTRI, we have put together the following support plan to ensure that all you will have to do is turn up and race.
We advise that you first read our race reports and facts, and have a good browse of the main event website (www.nxtri.com) before deciding whether to join us in 2007. This is an extreme event, the nature of which is reflected in the specifically chosen course. The hills are long and steep, the majority of the run is uphill and the weather can be unpredictable, even in summer.
You should be confident in your own level of fitness and be prepared to train hard between now and August. The better equiped you are, the more you will get out of the event. You will then return to the UK and wear your black finisher t-shirt with pride.
What we will do for you
Two days before you fly out to Norway we will collect all your race gear from you. This includes your bike, wetsuit, technical gear and tools - everything that you will need in the race. This will then be taken over to Norway ahead of you via ferry, and be waiting in Eidfjord when you arrive. Casual clothes and personal belongings should be taken with you on the flight.
NB: THE PACKAGE DOES NOT INCLUDE THE FLIGHT
You will be met at Stansted by Accelerace and Endurancelife representatives, and everyone will recieve a Norseman Xtreme Tri 2007 "team" shirt to wear out in Norway to increase team spirit, banter and cameraderie.
You will be taken from the Airport to Eidfjord (about a three hour drive). This is a really nice introduction to the scenery that you will racing through. Depending on the flight you have caught, there will probably be a stop for food on the way.
You will have two nights accommodation in Eidfjord. Don't worry, you won't have to sleep on the floor in the tricamp. Everyone will have a proper bed. A comfortable few nights before the start is vital.
All meals will be arranged for you. Please notify us of any special dietary needs, dislikes or alergies.
On the day before the race you will all register for the event and collect your race numbers. Then, if you really like, you can spin the pedals up the first part of the bike route to make sure everything feels right. There will be plenty of time to tinker with gear and prepare, and you can ask us anything about the logistics of the event. At some point during the day we will get together and discuss the race day format.
In the evening we will all go to the pasta party on the ferry. This is a great opportunity to chat with the other competitors and check out the competition. In 2006 there were 135 people from 13 different nations.
We will give full support to you through the whole event - collect all your transition gear at T1, provide you with food and drink on both the bike and run, collect all your T2 gear, meet you at the mountain checkpoint and prepare you for the last push to the top.
We will collect you from the finish and transport you to the mountain hotel. There is food here for those who want it, otherwise you can go straight to one of the dormitories. There are hot showers and ideal facilities (www.gaustablikk.no). All accommodation here will be pre-booked for you. In the morning after the event, the hotel lays out an excellent breakfast, and if the weather is good you can sit out on the balcony and enjoy a stunning a view of the mountain.

After breakfast all competitors assemble for the presentation of finisher shirts and photos.
The vans will then be packed up and we will drive you to the last nights accommodation in log cabins. We will put on a barbecue, have a few beers and generally chill out before returning to the UK the next morning. It will be a great way to finish the trip off.
Your bikes and gear will be returned to you later that week when the next ferry leaves for the UK.
