Part of an alarmingly large contingent of Team Accelerace who came from the dampest of sports, James rowed very successfully for some time before realising that most people can run faster than even the fastest rowing boat, and no matter how sweetly the hull 'sings', the purr of a silky smooth racing bike eating up the miles is almost as acoustically satisfying. The 'transition' (apologies) to triathlon has been nigh-on seamless, given James' advantages on the height and weight front (he was always a little small for a rower - left him up at the pointy end a lot).
