I was fifth in the Accelerace Extreme Tri, not sure how that happened
2. Describe your racing style in three words...
Slow, Steady, Slow.
3. What’s your most exotic previous race (of any discipline)?
Buffalo Springs Half Ironman just down the road from where Buddy Holly was born in Lubbock Texas. I didn't see any buffallo?
4. Longest distance event (any discipline) previously completed?Marathons and a few half Ironmans, why? Is this one longer?
5. How much training do you do in an average week?
About 15 hours
6. When was the last time you fell off your bike?
Last September on charity ride out to Arnhem, it was wet and the metal tram lines came out of nowhere, the Brugge beer festival the night before had absolutely nothing to do with it.
7. How long have you been training for the Welsh Ultra (or how long will you have been training for..?)
My last race was the Extreme Tri in September 2007 so since then really.
8. How did you hear about the Welsh Ultra?
During the Extreme Tri
9. What are you looking forward to most about the event?
Crossing the finish line
10. Do you know anyone else taking part?
Nope.
11. How many years have you been taking part in triathlon for? This is my third year.
12. How many years have you spent in multisport (including swimming/cycling/running etc)?
Third year.
13. What's been your most amusing racing experience so far?
Falling off at the second corner on the Wensleydale Triathlon, how I chuckled knowing that my grazed left bum cheek would be there for all to see for the remainder of the ride and the run...
14. In terms of competitiveness, are you coming to Wales to:

My support crew consists of my long-suffering father John and my not so long-suffering younger brother Doug. Doug is a doctor, but it's in some sort of academic finance stuff. Why couldn't he have done something more useful like physiotherapy or medicine? Anything that would have helped me get through this...
17. Do you have any pre-race superstitions or special habits or lucky charms?
A good breakfast and a good sh**.

My bed. The greatest recovery device ever invented.
