  Mid Wales - West Highlands

   Accelerace Ultra Triathlons 2007

Support details

The following details apply to both the Mid Wales Ultra Triathlon and the West Highlands Ultra Triathlon.

The Accelerace Ultra Triathlons are run, true to Accelerace's principles of adventurous endurance racing, with minimal support infrastructure. There will be aid stations, but not many, and the onus will be on competitors to be fully prepared and equipped for an extreme endurance event.

To this end, all competitors taking part in either of the Accelerace Ultra Triathlons, should be fully supported by a vehicle of their choice. All support vehicles and drivers are to be registered on the morning of the event, and all support car drivers will be issued with a car-marker and an Ultra Triathlon T-shirt, to be worn during the event. Any form of support is legitimate, including both nutritional and mechanical aid - and rest stops, if required, are also permissible. Support car drivers are also encouraged to aid other competitors that may require it, again in the spirit of the event.

In keeping with the spirit of the events, no competitor will be refused entry on the basis of not having a support car, but we have to insist that all competitors appreciate the severity of the undertaking. There may be large extents of the course that are un-aided, and competitors ought to be prepared for such - unsupported competitors would need to carry with them sufficient supplies and equipment to sustain themselves for the duration of the event.

If you would like to enter either event unaided, please contact us separately to discuss how you intend to remain self-sufficient. If you are struggling to find a support car, we will do everything we can to assist - again, please get in contact at ultratri@accelerace.co.uk.
